Golfing has brightened our current friendships and blessed us with many new friends....
After being widowed several years ago, I turned my focus to making friends with other senior women golfers in similar circumstances...

What could be more special than a Fall day on the golf course with friends?
Golf is a social event. It’s not about the final score but about getting out and having fun with other women golfers. One of the great things about being in our senior years is our perspective has changed. It’s all about getting outside and having fun and enjoying time with like-mind ladies.
From my experience, even at competitive tournaments, the vibe is way different than in younger years. They are there to enjoy old friendship and create new friendships. The golf becomes more of an excuse to get together.
1
Golf Is Easy to Learn
Golf is relatively easy to learn. Many of my golfing friends didn’t take up the game until after they retired. Don’t even think about mastering the game because that is impossible. Remember, even the pros have bad days and they practice constantly. Just go out and have fun.
2
Low Impact Exercise
It is good, low impact, exercise. Even if you ride in a cart you are going to get in lots of steps during a round of golf. All that swinging and bending over is good for you too. It works muscles that don’t get used in any other way.
3
Golf Reduces Stress!
Golf reduces stress, enhances mental focus and cognitive function. Being outside with friends in such a beautiful setting as a golf course gives you a natural feeling of well-being. Each next golf shot must be planned and, therefore, keeps you mentally sharp.
4
Golf Enhances Mental Focus
Golf helps us keep our minds in focus. You practice being aware, you are thinking and concentrating. You are evaluating and making strategic decisions. This helps you stay sharp as you age.
Business Owner
I am 60 years old. I have never golfed in my life. In fact, I never was interested in golfing. But now that I am traveling around on my own, I wanted to start making some women friends who were seniors like I am. I was looking for a connection. This is when I found Carol Williams and read her story. It resonated with me. And off I went to start golfing with other senior women!
